Deborah House Makeover

This project involved doing interior and exterior remodeling to change the appearance and the function of the house. The 3 bedroom/2 bath house has the washer and dryer in the garage, which was not accessible from inside the house. The current master bathroom was small with a stall neoangle shower in a 6 x 8 area. The exterior was covered with wood siding and stucco, which looked dated. Also, the interior fireplace was not being used and divided the dining and living room space. To give a more open feel, the fireplace had to come out. Also, the vaulted ceiling was not well insulated and heat was making its way through the ceiling late in the day in the living room.
Plans were made up to add a master bath, convert the existing master to a laundry room, and adding an office space. Also, to remove the fireplace and place wood shiplap on the ceiling with more insulation to help with the heat problem. Additional heat barriers were designed into the project using reflective foil roof sheeting and reroofing 1/2 the house.

To line up the subfloors, using joists, we hung the joists off the sides of the stemwalls. We also framed around the power panel until the last moment. Then we moved it.
